Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations for the servicing, replacement, and recharging of fire fighting equipment within the Umvoti Municipality. The goal is to ensure that fire safety equipment is maintained to the required standards, operational, and compliant with relevant safety and accreditation standards.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Servicing, testing, and certification of fire extinguishers (dry chemical and CO2 types).
• Recharging of fire extinguishers with appropriate materials (dry chemical powder, CO2 gas, nitrogen).
• Replacement of condemned or missing fire extinguishers.
• Servicing and testing of fire hose reels, including pressure testing and gland-packing renewal.
• Inspection and testing of fire detection and alarm systems, including batteries and ceiling units.
• Certification and documentation of all services performed.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that service providers must:

• Be accredited with SAQCC and SANS.
• Have reliable, accredited, and experienced technicians with traceable references and CVs.
• Be registered with the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
• Possess valid tax clearance certificates with PIN.
• Provide proof of municipal accounts or lease agreements not older than 3 months for both the director and the company.
• Provide proof of residence for directors from the CLLR, not older than 3 months (for rural residents).
• Submit completed MBD forms 3.1, 4, 8, 9, and GCC (returnable documents).
• Present CK or company registration documents not older than three months.
• Provide certified ID copies of members/directors not older than 3 months.
• Ensure technicians are accredited and experienced in fire equipment servicing.
• Provide certification for goods in standing order.

Skills and Skills Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in servicing, testing, and recharging fire extinguishers and related fire safety equipment.
• Accreditation with SAQCC and adherence to SANS standards.
• Availability of skilled, reliable technicians with traceable references and CVs.
• Ability to program, install, service, and commission fire fighting equipment as required.
• Capacity to provide certified documentation and compliance certificates for all services rendered.
