Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure Dressing Wound Hydrogel with Modified Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose (25g) to meet the wound dressing needs of Ngwelezane Hospital. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of quality medical supplies that conform to specified standards and specifications, supporting effective wound management and patient care.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes the supply of 200 boxes of Dressing Wound Hydrogel (10 units per box) to Ngwelezane Hospital. The procurement process covers all activities from quotation submission, technical evaluation, sample submission, to final delivery within the specified contract period (once-off). The scope also encompasses compliance with technical, legal, and administrative requirements as outlined in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

• The dressing must be a hydrogel with modified sodium carboxymethylcellulose, packaged in 25g units.
• Product must conform to the specifications attached in the tender (including size, material, and composition).
• The product must meet SABS standards and be approved accordingly.
• Samples are required for evaluation prior to award.
• The product must be new, unused, and of the latest model with no defects arising from design, materials, or workmanship.
• The supplier must provide appropriate packing to prevent damage during transit and delivery.
• The delivery must comply with the specified delivery schedule and documentation requirements.
• Product specifications include compliance with the detailed description, quality standards, and packaging requirements as per the annexure.

Skills Requirements

• Bidder must demonstrate technical capability to supply medical-grade hydrogel dressings that meet specified standards.
• Ability to provide samples for testing and evaluation within the stipulated timeframe.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, including submission of official forms, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and adherence to quality standards.
• Capacity to deliver within the specified contract period and handle logistics efficiently.
• Understanding of the Department’s procurement policies, including preference points system and compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and related regulations.
