Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to provide and operate dust suppression water cannon spray trucks at Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) Richards Bay Port (RCB) for a period of 2 months. The service aims to mitigate dust pollution, ensure environmental compliance, and support safe cargo handling operations within the port environment.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of dust suppression spray trucks equipped with water cannon systems.
• Deployment of qualified operators to operate the equipment 24 hours daily, including night shifts.
• Coverage of various operational areas within the port, including stockpiles and risky zones prone to dust emission.
• Use of equipment in multiple sections based on demand, with a minimum reach of 100 meters.
• Adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations during operations.
• Ensuring equipment availability, reliability, and compliance with technical specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the spray trucks include:

• Spray size: 100 meters
• Flow rate: 7-11 liters per second
• Liquid pump pressure: 0.5 – 2.5 bar, with stainless-steel pumps
• Fog drop particles: 50-300 microns
• Horizontal range: >100 meters
• Pitch angle: -10° to 45°
• Horizontal rotation: 320°, adjustable
• Power capacity: >75 kW with overload protection

Additional technical requirements include:

• Two spray trucks with operators for 24-hour operation over 2 months.
• Operators must be trained, qualified, and possess necessary certificates of competence.
• Equipment must be durable, reliable, and compliant with safety and environmental standards.

Skills Requirements

The tender mandates the following skills and qualifications:

• Qualified operators with valid certificates of competence or relevant training for operating dust suppression equipment.
