Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a service provider for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of water pump equipment in the East London and surrounding areas for a period of six (6) months. The aim is to ensure reliable water pump operation through effective servicing and repairs, supporting public infrastructure needs.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Servicing, maintenance, and repairs of water pump equipment in the specified region.
• Provision of skilled personnel and technical services as per the detailed scope of work.
• Supply of necessary materials, spare parts, and equipment for repairs.
• Adherence to specified standards, safety, and quality requirements.
• Completion of work within the contractual period, including defect liability and final certification.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Provision of qualified key personnel including Millwrights, Plumbers, and Electricians with relevant trade tests and licenses.
• Compliance with the specifications outlined in the scope of work, including adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Implementation of a detailed work programme and schedule, including risk management and quality control measures.
• Provision of necessary insurances, security, and security clearance for personnel.
• Effective management of project timelines, including milestones for completion and defect rectification.
• Compliance with applicable legislation, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from bidders include:

• Minimum of five (5) key staff members with relevant qualifications and trade tests:
• Millwright with a certified trade test certificate.
• Plumber with a trade test certificate.
• Electrician with a Wireman’s license.
• Proven experience in servicing, maintenance, and repairs of water pump equipment.
• Ability to develop and implement work programmes, safety plans, and quality assurance procedures.
• Capability to supply skilled personnel, manage logistics, and ensure compliance with technical standards.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
• Demonstrated capacity to handle project management, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
