Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure electronic personal dosimeters (basic models) for radiation monitoring during pregnancy at Harry Gwala Regional Hospital. The equipment must meet specified technical standards to ensure accurate radiation dose measurement and alarm functionalities.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply of the Electronic Personal Dosimeter - Basic model, including compliance with detailed specifications such as alarm thresholds, data recording capacity, and quality standards. The procurement is a once-off contract intended to support radiation safety monitoring within the hospital's diagnostic imaging department.

Technical Requirements

• The dosimeter must allow setting of two dose rate alarm thresholds and two dose alarm thresholds.
• It must continuously monitor threshold levels and alert the user via audible, visual, and vibration alarms when thresholds are exceeded.
• The device must automatically record and store up to 7,500 dose rate and dose measurement events in non-volatile memory.
• The instrument must conform to high-quality standards and be suitable for radiation monitoring during pregnancy.
• The unit should be packaged as a single item per measure, with specifications supported by a quotation from a stockist.

Skills Requirements

Suppliers must demonstrate the ability to provide:

• Compliance with detailed technical specifications and standards.
• Provision of relevant documentation, including specifications and quality standards.
• Experience in supplying radiation monitoring equipment, with evidence such as previous supply records or references.
• Capability to supply after-sales support, including installation, maintenance, and technical assistance if required.
