Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver EVA Soling 10mm Supercell and Leather Special Lining to the Orthopaedic Workshop at Wentworth. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of high-quality orthopaedic materials that meet specified standards for patient use, supporting the department's commitment to providing effective orthopaedic care.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of:

• Black EVA Soling 10mm Supercell (200 sheets)
• Brown Leather Special Lining (5000 dm²)

The materials must conform to detailed specifications, including size, color, quality standards, and packaging requirements. Delivery is to be made to the Orthopaedic Services at Wentworth Hospital, with samples supplied for verification prior to final acceptance.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of EVA Soling in black, 10mm thickness, dimensions 1450mm x 850mm, with a smooth finish on both surfaces.
• Leather lining must be full grain, chrome tanned, brown/tan color, satin finish, thickness between 0.6mm and 0.8mm, soft enough for moulding, and packed/labeled with company details.
• Samples (minimum 1m²) to be supplied for each material for identification and compliance.
• Materials must meet high-quality standards and be compliant with attached specifications and standards.
• Delivery to be completed within the specified contract period, with documentation and packaging adhering to specified requirements.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying orthopaedic materials, with demonstrated ability to meet technical specifications.
• Capability to produce and supply high-quality, compliant materials within the stipulated timeframe.
• Knowledge of relevant standards (SANS/SABS) and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to provide samples for evaluation and ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation.
• Compliance with procurement policies, including preference points for Black African ownership and adherence to the Department’s supply chain management regulations.
• Effective communication and coordination skills to ensure timely delivery and technical support if required.
