Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure gardening services for a period of 36 months at the NOC Pinetown Depot. The service provider is expected to deliver comprehensive gardening services that meet the specified standards and requirements outlined in the contract.

Scope

The scope of work involves the provision of gardening services at the NOC Pinetown Depot for a duration of three years. The detailed requirements for the services are stipulated in the Schedule of Requirements, which includes tasks such as maintenance of the depot's landscaping, lawn care, pruning, and related horticultural activities.

The services are to be performed as per the specifications and standards set out in the contract, ensuring consistent quality and compliance throughout the contract period.

Technical Requirements

• Services must conform strictly to the specifications and standards specified in the contract and Schedule of Requirements.
• All services must be fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.
• The service provider shall rectify any defects or supply appropriate replacements at their own expense within the specified delivery times.
• The service provider shall ensure that all work complies with relevant legislation, standards, and directives related to horticultural services.
• Performance management and review meetings will be held as required by Transnet’s Contract Manager.
• The service provider shall adhere to confidentiality, health and safety, and security requirements as specified in the contract.

Skills Requirements

• Competence in horticultural and gardening services, including landscaping, lawn maintenance, pruning, and related activities.
• Ability to meet quality standards and specifications specified in the contract.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Effective communication skills for coordination and reporting to Transnet’s Contract Manager.
• Capability to rectify defects and provide replacements promptly.
• Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements, especially regarding personal information and proprietary data.
