Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to facilitate the complete removal, repair, testing, and reinstallation of a 62.5 KVA alternator at the Transnet Pipelines Villiers Metering Station. The work aims to diagnose and address the cause of the alternator's stator winding failure, refurbish or replace damaged components, ensure the alternator meets operational standards through comprehensive testing, and restore it to a fully functional state.

Scope

The scope encompasses the following key activities:

• Safely disconnect and remove the existing 62.5 KVA alternator from the site.
• Conduct detailed diagnostic testing to identify the root cause of the stator winding failure.
• Perform necessary repairs, including rewinding or replacing damaged core sections.
• Carry out comprehensive testing post-repair to certify operational integrity.
• Reinstall and commission the alternator at the Villiers Metering Station.
• Complete final handover with all relevant documentation and certification.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to safety standards during removal, repair, testing, and reinstallation processes.
• Use of qualified personnel with experience in alternator rewinding and testing.
