Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the replacement and maintenance of Teklogix/Zebra Endpoint Baystation (VMT/HHT) devices and associated infrastructure equipment at Transnet Port Terminals, specifically at Maydon Wharf and Agriport Terminals. The aim is to ensure the continuous, reliable operation of these critical communication and tracking systems through effective replacement, upkeep, and support.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of replacement and maintenance services for Teklogix/Zebra Endpoint Baystation (VMT/HHT) devices.
• Maintenance of related infrastructure equipment supporting these devices.
• Implementation of environmental protection measures such as dipole antenna arrays with advanced configurations designed for industrial RF performance.
• Fabrication and installation of durable, weather-resistant RF equipment capable of withstanding maritime and industrial conditions.
• Provision of protective covers and weatherproofing materials to ensure long-term operational resilience under adverse environmental conditions.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Dipole antenna arrays with advanced quadruple-stack configurations for optimal narrowband RF performance across challenging frequencies.
• Use of fabrication materials that endure severe maritime and industrial exposures without signal degradation or physical deterioration.
• Outer jacket materials resistant to environmental and chemical aggressors, ensuring durability and signal integrity.
• Provision of environmental shielding solutions such as protective covers and weatherproofing to maintain RF functionality under adverse conditions.
• Two base stations, strategically located at Gcos Building and Isivivane Building, equipped with robust environmental and mechanical stability features.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in RF infrastructure design, fabrication, and installation, particularly in maritime and industrial environments.
• Experience with the maintenance and support of Teklogix/Zebra endpoint devices and related infrastructure equipment.
• Capability to fabricate durable RF components using materials resistant to environmental and chemical stressors.
• Knowledge of environmental protection standards and weatherproofing solutions for industrial RF systems.
• Ability to coordinate installation at multiple sites, ensuring minimal operational disruption and adherence to safety standards.
