Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to acquire a service provider to supply and maintain two (2) industrial road sweeper vehicles for a period of two (2) months. The purpose is to control and suppress dust generated during cargo handling operations at Transnet Port Terminals, thereby reducing environmental impact and health hazards for employees.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of two (2) industrial road sweeper vehicles equipped with full maintenance services.
• Operation of the sweepers over two shifts per day, 24 hours, for a duration of 2 months.
• Deployment of qualified drivers and maintenance teams to ensure continuous operation.
• Adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards, including site-specific conditions and regulations.
• Compliance with all relevant legislation and safety standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the equipment include:

• Sweeping width with central brush: 1300 mm
• Sweeping width with side brushes: 2600 mm
• Optional third brush for wider coverage: 3500 mm
• Container capacity: 6.2 cubic meters
• Filtering surface area: 99 square meters
• Vacuum sucker enabled for dust collection
• Equipment must operate effectively across specified shift patterns with response times to breakdowns within 30 minutes
• Availability of equipment and personnel to cover all shift patterns
• Provision of full maintenance and operational support

Skills Requirements

The tender requires:

• Qualified and medically fit drivers with experience operating industrial road sweepers
• Maintenance personnel capable of responding promptly to equipment breakdowns
• Compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including submission of safety files and adherence to SHE standards
• Knowledge of site-specific conditions and safety protocols
• Ability to respond to callouts within 30 minutes for breakdown repairs
