Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of padlocks and inspection books required at Transnet DCT Pier 2. The aim is to ensure the availability of specified security and inspection materials to support operational and safety requirements at the terminal.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of:

• Inspection books used by stevedore companies to record vessel inspections upon arrival at DCT Pier 2.
• Padlocks of specified type, size, and security features (keyed alike, shackle type, brass cylinder, hardened steel shackle, etc.) for securing equipment and facilities at the terminal.

The delivery is to be made to Transnet DCT Pier 2, with quantities specified in the price schedule.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the items include:

• Inspection Books: A4 size, used for vessel inspection records, with a specified checklist format.
• Padlocks: Shackle type, 50 mm dimensions, keyed alike, package type: carded, shackle material: hardened steel, body material: brass, pick-resistant brass cylinder, body size: 50 mm x 40 mm, shackle diameter: 8 mm, body height: 85 mm.

Additional requirements include secure packaging, timely delivery, and compliance with specified security features.

Skills and Competence Requirements

Suppliers must demonstrate:

• Ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards for security equipment and inspection documentation.
• Capacity to deliver within the specified lead time from the date of purchase order.
• Compliance with legal, safety, and security regulations applicable to the supply of security equipment and inspection materials.
• Experience in supplying similar goods to large industrial or port operations.
• Provision of valid proof of B-BBEE status and tax compliance as part of the bid documentation.
