Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, install, test, and commission 90 Cat6 LAN points at the Transnet Port Terminals, specifically at the 111 Building (Triple 1) in Durban. The project aims to establish a reliable and compliant structured LAN cabling infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted ICT services within the designated facilities.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply of all necessary materials such as Cat6 LAN cabling, RJ45 connectors, faceplates or outlet boxes, trunking, conduits, and cable management accessories.
• Installation of 90 Cat6 LAN points at specified locations, including termination at wall outlets and patch panels.
• Labeling all LAN points clearly for easy identification.
• Testing and certification of the installed cabling to ensure compliance with standards.
• Handover of the completed installation along with certification reports and documentation.
• Ensuring all work adheres to relevant Cat6 standards and complies with applicable regulations and site requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that all work must:

• Use materials that meet Cat6 standards for performance and compliance.
• Include proper installation practices for neatness and compliance.
• Be tested and certified to verify performance and standards adherence.
• Be documented with certification reports and detailed records of the installation process.
• Follow site-specific procedures for permits and access, including prior approval and site meetings.
