Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, manufacture, and professionally fit dual K9 transport kennels into existing municipal law enforcement vehicles, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The project aims to enhance the operational capabilities of the K9 Unit by providing durable, compliant, and functional kennel conversions.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Manufacture and installation of aluminium dual K9 transport kennels into existing municipal vehicles, primarily hatchback or sedan patrol vehicles.
• Design and construction of dual-compartment kennels with a central dividing panel.
• Installation of internal LED lighting within kennel compartments.
• Provision of sealed, waterproof, non-slip, and easy-to-clean linings for floors, roof, side panels, and bulkheads.
• Work must adhere to municipal, occupational health and safety, and animal welfare standards.
• Conversion timelines and vehicle return protocols will be coordinated with the user department.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the kennel conversions include:

• Dual-compartment design with a central dividing panel for separating dogs.
• Front bulkhead behind driver and passenger seats, and rear bulkhead leading to the boot area.
• Sealed polyurethane or equivalent lining applied to floors, roof, side panels, divider, and bulkheads, which must be:
• Fully sealed and waterproof
• Non-slip
• Resistant to scratching, moisture, and chemicals
• Easy to clean and disinfect
• Installation of internal LED lighting within kennel compartments.
• Work must comply with applicable municipal, occupational health and safety, and animal welfare standards.
• Delivery and installation lead times must be coordinated with the relevant department.
• Vehicles must be returned in a condition suitable for operational use.
• Warranty and aftersales support are required.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in manufacturing and fitting vehicle kennel conversions, preferably for law enforcement or similar applications.
• Technical capability to design and produce sealed, waterproof, and durable kennel compartments according to specifications.
• Knowledge of municipal, occupational health and safety, and animal welfare standards relevant to vehicle modifications.
• Ability to coordinate installation schedules with the municipal department and ensure timely delivery.
• Provision of references for previous similar projects, including details of services rendered and contract values.
• Compliance with all technical, legal, and safety standards as specified in the tender documentation.
