Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a service provider for the maintenance of lifts across various facilities within the Free State Province, for a period of three (03) months. The goal is to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of lifts, escalators, and related equipment, complying with relevant standards and legislation, including occupational health and safety regulations.

Scope

The scope encompasses routine, preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance of a wide range of lifts, including passenger lifts, freight lifts, chair lifts, platform lifts, and specialized lifts such as chair lifts for disabled persons, dumbwaiters, and platform hoists. The maintenance covers multiple facilities such as government offices, courts, police stations, museums, and other public buildings within the Free State Province, with detailed schedules and specific requirements per location as outlined in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

• Adherence to all relevant standards, including SANS 1545 series, SANS 10360, SANS 10400, and other applicable codes of practice.
• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and related regulations.
• Provision of qualified electrical artisans, lift mechanics, and trade-tested personnel with valid certificates and licenses.
• Use of new, high-quality, and certified spare parts and materials.
• Implementation of logging and record-keeping systems for all maintenance activities, faults, and inspections.
• Provision of guarantees for new equipment and repairs, with warranties of at least 12 months.
• Preparation of detailed maintenance plans, schedules, and programs for approval.
• Provision of security clearance and adherence to site-specific security protocols.
• Regular reporting, including monthly maintenance reports, incident reports, and compliance documentation.

Skills Requirements

• Experienced lift mechanics with proven track records in maintenance and repairs of various lift types.

• Ability to diagnose faults accurately and perform timely repairs.
• Competence in record-keeping, reporting, and documentation of all maintenance activities.
• Capacity to respond promptly to emergency breakdowns, with defined response times.
• Experience in working within public sector projects and compliance with security and safety protocols.
