Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure supply and delivery of gowns for Rietvlei Hospital under the Department of Health in KwaZulu-Natal. The aim is to ensure the hospital is adequately stocked with sterile, reinforced surgical gowns that meet specified standards and requirements.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and delivery of sterile surgical reinforced gowns (size XXL, blue, 43g material, with velcro neckline, 48cm length, woven waist belts, cotton cuffs, packed sterile in plastic bags).
• Provision of related items such as disposable masks, electrodes, litmus paper, tape indicators, and other medical supplies as specified in the quotation.
• Delivery to Rietvlei Hospital security gate within the contract period, which is a once-off procurement.

Technical Requirements

The gowns must conform to the following specifications:

• Material: Non-woven, blue in color, weight 43g.
• Design: Reinforced with velcro neckline, length 48cm, two woven waist belts, cotton cuffs (8cm).
• Packaging: Sterile plastic bag with paper towel (40x50cm).
• Size: XXL.
• Compliance with S.A.N.S. / S.A.B.S. standards and specifications.
• Delivery period: To be specified (e.g., 3 days, 1 week).

Skills Requirements

While the tender primarily focuses on the supply of goods, bidders should possess the following skills and capabilities:
