Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for storm damage repair specifically focused on gutters at St Andrews Hospital. The project aims to replace old, rusted, or damaged gutters and downpipes with new, compliant materials to ensure proper water drainage and structural integrity.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Removal of existing old gutters and downpipes.
• Supply and installation of new aluminium seamless OGEE type gutters (150mm top width, 100mm bottom width, 125mm height) with specified colour (Ivory) and approved materials.
• Installation of UPVC or other approved downpipes (75mm x 75mm).
• Fitting of gutter end caps, brackets, and accessories as specified.
• Ensuring all work complies with the relevant standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Testing and leaving the system in good service condition.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of SABS approved materials, including aluminium gutters, UPVC downpipes, and accessories.
• Gutters to be continuous extruded aluminium with Chromodek finish, fixed with appropriate brackets.
• All joints, mitres, and bends to be properly sealed and approved.
• Replacement of fascia boards if damaged, with proper disposal of old materials.
• Adherence to the specified dimensions and colour (Ivory).
• Installation to be carried out in accordance with the Department of Health standards, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and relevant building regulations.
• Provision of a 10-year guarantee certificate on the installed gutters and downpipes.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in gutter installation and stormwater drainage systems.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including the preparation of a safety plan approved by a registered safety officer.
• Qualified personnel with appropriate trade certificates and registration with the Department of Labour.
• Capability to undertake site inspections, measurements, and provide quality workmanship.
• Ability to adhere to project timelines, specifically completing the work within four weeks as specified.
• Provision of necessary documentation such as CIDB registration, B-BBEE certificate, tax clearance, and proof of previous relevant work.
