Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the hire of a 20-ton excavator and a 10m³ tipper truck for housekeeping activities at Redelinghuys Landfill, ensuring efficient waste management and site maintenance within the specified timeframe.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of a 20-ton excavator (Komatsu PC 200 or equivalent, model year 2009 or newer) for transport and site clearance.
• Provision of a 10m³ tipper truck for waste hauling and general housekeeping at Redelinghuys Landfill.
• Transport of equipment from depot to Redelinghuys and back.
• Carting waste from Redelinghuys Landfill to Piketberg Landfill (approx. 69 km).
• General site housekeeping and waste management activities.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the equipment include:

• Excavator: Komatsu PC 200 (2009 model or newer) or equivalent, with a net power of at least 110 kW, fitted with a working hour meter, and compliant with safety and operational standards.
• Tipper Truck: 10m³ capacity, suitable for waste hauling, with operational safety features.
• Equipment must be in good working condition, properly maintained, and accompanied by relevant certificates such as medical and safety compliance.
• Transport and operational activities must adhere to safety, security, and environmental standards.
• All equipment must be insured against loss or damage during transit and operation.

Skills and Experience Requirements

Bidder must demonstrate:

• At least three (3) contactable references for similar projects within the last five years.
• Experience in operating and maintaining heavy machinery such as excavators and tipper trucks in landfill or waste management environments.
• Qualified and certified operators for the equipment, with proof of relevant training and safety certifications.
• Ability to coordinate transport, equipment deployment, and waste carting efficiently.
• Compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations applicable to landfill operations.
