Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure sterile humidifier water bottles of 500 ml capacity for use in adding moisture to inspired oxygen at Port Shepstone Hospital. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of compliant, high-quality humidifiers that meet specified standards and specifications to support patient care.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of 10,000 units of sterile humidifier water bottles, specifically designed for medical oxygen humidification. The items must conform to detailed specifications, including manufacturing standards, safety features, and certification requirements. The procurement covers the entire process from quotation submission, evaluation, to delivery at the specified hospital location within the KwaZulu-Natal province.

Technical Requirements

• The humidifier water bottle must be pre-filled with sterile water, size 500 ml, and manufactured from medical-grade, latex-free plastic.
• Must come fitted with a standard DISS wing-nut connector for oxygen flow meter, with a secure, leak-proof seal.
• Must include a pressure release valve.
• The container should have a flat bottom, be non-refillable, and include clear markings for lot number, manufacturing and expiry dates, and manufacturer contact details.
• Must comply with SABS/SANS standards or equivalent certification.
• The shelf life of the product must be stated by the bidder.
• Items must be delivered to Port Shepstone Hospital, SCM Department, No. 7 Bazley Street, during office hours (07:30 - 15:00), with no weekend or holiday deliveries accepted.

Skills Requirements

• Bidder must demonstrate compliance with technical specifications through certification and documentation.
• Ability to supply and deliver large quantities within the specified timeframe.
• Provision of proof of previous experience in supplying medical-grade humidification products.
• Understanding of procurement procedures, including submission of accurate documentation, adherence to specifications, and compliance with health and safety standards.
• Capacity to provide technical support, if required, for installation or usage of the product.
