The primary objective is to procure high-quality, sterile hydrodissection cannulas for use in ophthalmic surgical procedures at Northdale Hospital under the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. The procurement aims to secure a reliable supply of specialised surgical instruments while complying with national public sector procurement legislation and preferential purchasing policies.
The contract covers a once-off supply of ten boxes of 27-gauge hydrodissection cannulas. Delivery must be completed to Northdale Hospital within the timeframe stipulated upon contract award. The quotation validity period is ninety days. The evaluation process comprises five stages: administrative compliance, delivery capacity, specification adherence, price and preference points, and objective sample verification.
No specialised clinical or technical skills are mandated for the bidder. However, suppliers must demonstrate robust supply chain and logistics capabilities to safely store, transport, and deliver regulated medical devices without compromising sterility or shelf life. Bidders must possess administrative competence to navigate public procurement compliance, including CSD verification, tax clearance validation, and accurate completion of statutory declaration forms. Financial stability and proven experience in distributing healthcare commodities are implicitly required to fulfil the once-off delivery obligation.

Most large tenders are composed of tasks in a number of different fields, and it is not always possible for a single company to cater for all of them, and therefore Joint Ventures and Consortia are formed to then submit a tender together.
Government tenders are also requiring the subcontracting of a percentage of the tender work, and the trouble is then finding Subcontractors to comply with the tender requirements
To assist companies with finding tender partners and subcontractors, you can now submit your contact details and company information on this page, so other interested parties can contact you for purposes of forming Joint Ventures and subcontracting
