Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure sterile hypochlorous acid wound irrigation solutions suitable for wound and burn irrigation, cleaning, and management at Greys Hospital. The solution must meet specified quality standards and specifications to ensure safety and efficacy in medical applications.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply of 40 bottles of hypochlorous acid wound irrigation solution, each containing 5 liters, to Greys Hospital in Pietermaritzburg. The procurement includes delivery, compliance with technical specifications, and provision of necessary documentation and training as required.

Technical Requirements

• The product must be hypochlorous acid solution, sterile, and supplied in 5-liter bottles.
• The solution must comply with local or international quality standards and be certified by a recognized quality board.
• The product must be suitable for irrigation and cleaning of wounds and burns.
• Samples must be provided upon request for evaluation and testing.
• Product brochure and technical information must be submitted, with representatives available for questions and training.
• The solution must be packaged appropriately to prevent damage during transit and storage.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Bidder must demonstrate the ability to manufacture, import, or distribute medical-grade hypochlorous acid solutions compliant with health regulations.
• Bidder must provide proof of relevant certification and licensing from the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) or equivalent.
• Bidder's representatives should be available for technical support, training, and in-service education for end-users.
• Bidder must have experience in supplying sterile medical solutions to healthcare facilities.
• Bidder must ensure compliance with the Department of Health’s procurement policies, including preference points and BBBEE requirements.
