Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply a sweeper truck on an ad hoc basis at the East London Multi-Purpose Terminal operated by Transnet Port Terminals (TPT). The service aims to support terminal operations by providing equipment capable of handling cargo and cleaning activities, including handling manganese cargo and catering to mining applications.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Hiring a sweeper truck as and when required by operations at the Port of Port East London Multi-Purpose Terminal.
• The equipment must be suitable for mining applications and capable of handling manganese cargo.
• The machine specifications include a total width of 1250mm, working width of 11000mm, weight of 170kg, brushes of 420/29, and a bucket capacity of 140 liters.
• The sweeper must have tinted cabin windows and be capable of completing operations within specified timeframes, factoring in transportation costs and weather delays.
• Operational requirements include maintenance, safety compliance, and timely resolution of any machine defects.

Skills and Compliance Requirements

Suppliers must meet the following skills and compliance criteria:

• Provision of previous client references (minimum three), on official letterheads, no older than two years, demonstrating similar services.
• Submission of machinery logbooks confirming machine lifespan of less than 5000 hours.
• Proof of ownership or lease agreement covering the 12-month contract duration.
• Compliance with safety standards, including submission of safety data sheets (if applicable), PPE inspection registers, and tools inspection records.
• Mandatory safety site induction for first-time or expired induction card entrants.
• Operators must hold valid licenses.
• Visible PPE and identification during service delivery.
