Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to invite qualified service providers to conduct inspection, servicing, and repairs on air compressors at uShaka Marine World. The aim is to ensure the air compressors are operational, meet OEM standards, and are properly maintained through comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and air system repairs, along with performance testing and documentation.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Inspection, servicing, and repairs of three air compressors with specified tank sizes (150L and 100L) that are currently non-functional or have reported issues.
• Mechanical repairs such as inspecting and repairing pistons, rings, cylinder heads, and valve plates.
• Electrical repairs including inspecting and repairing electric motors, pressure switches, and contactors.
• Air system repairs like replacing intake filters, check valves, safety valves, and drain valves.
• Performance testing to run units to full pressure.
• Ensuring compliance with OEM standards and providing necessary documentation, parts lists, service checklists, and warranty terms.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that the service provider must:

• Inspect and repair mechanical components such as pistons, rings, cylinder heads, and valve plates.
• Inspect and repair electrical components including electric motors, pressure switches, and contactors.
• Replace and check air system components like intake filters, check valves, safety valves, and drain valves.
• Conduct performance testing by running units to full pressure.
• Ensure all repairs and servicing comply with OEM standards.
• Include parts lists, service checklists, warranty terms, and documentation of work performed.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Expertise in mechanical repairs of air compressors, including pistons, rings, cylinder heads, and valve plates.
• Proficiency in electrical repairs related to electric motors, pressure switches, and contactors.
• Knowledge of air system components and their maintenance, including filters, check valves, safety valves, and drain valves.
• Ability to perform performance testing and ensure compliance with OEM standards.
• Experience in documenting repairs, providing parts lists, service checklists, and warranty terms.
• Registered status on the Central Supplier Database and eThekwini Supplier Portal, with relevant tax clearance and compliance documentation.
