Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure intubation stylets of size 14FR to facilitate tracheal intubation, ensuring the supply of quality medical devices that meet specified standards and regulatory requirements.

The scope encompasses the supply of 128 units of intubation stylets (size 14FR) to Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Memorial Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal. The procurement process includes submission, evaluation, and potential negotiation of quotations, with adherence to departmental policies and specifications.

Technical Requirements

• Item Description: Intubation stylet(s) size 14FR
• Material: Must be made from malleable aluminium covered in a plastic sheath
• Dimensions: Outer diameter 4.0 mm, length 335 mm (14ft)
• Compatibility: Suitable for endotracheal tubes with inner diameter 5.0-8.0 mm
• Regulatory Compliance: Must have relevant certification (e.g., SABS, SANS, SANAS, ISO)
• Quality Standards: Items must conform to SABS or SANS specifications and be approved by relevant authorities
• Packaging: Adequate to prevent damage during transit and storage
• Samples: Must be provided for evaluation if requested
