Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of the water sprinkler system at Ntuzuma Magistrate Court. This includes ensuring the sprinkler system is fully operational, compliant with safety standards, and capable of providing fire protection as per relevant regulations and standards.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Service and repair of the water sprinkler system at Ntuzuma Magistrate Court.
• Overhaul of sprinkler valves and servicing/replacement of sprinkler heads.
• Repair or replacement of piping sections, including galvanised steel pipes, and labelling of pipework.
• Replacement of pipe brackets/clamps and electric fire jockey/booster pumps.
• Inspection, testing, and certification of fire protection equipment, including extinguishers and fire alarm systems.
• Site inspection and submission of detailed quotations based on equipment condition.
• Adherence to occupational health and safety regulations throughout the project.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and standards such as SANS 1475.
• Provision of a Safety Plan and Project Plan prior to commencement.
• Use of approved, certified, and registered artisans/technicians, including SAQCC registration for fire technicians.
• Proper inspection, testing, and certification of fire equipment, with adherence to relevant standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Guarantee or defects liability period of 6 months for repaired or replaced equipment.
• Provision of all necessary materials, tools, and equipment to execute the work safely and effectively.
• Complete documentation, including certificates of compliance, inspection reports, and invoices.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Qualified and experienced artisans/technicians with relevant certifications (e.g., SAQCC for fire systems).
• Proven track record in fire protection system maintenance and repair, with references for similar projects.
• Capability to conduct site inspections, prepare detailed quotations, and execute repairs in accordance with standards.
• Ability to develop and implement Occupational Health and Safety Plans and Project Schedules.
• Knowledge of relevant South African standards (SANS) and legal requirements for fire safety and sprinkler systems.
