Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider to deliver gardening maintenance services at Pinetown Magistrate Court for a period of 24 months. The aim is to ensure the court premises are properly maintained through professional gardening services, adhering to specified standards and requirements.

Scope

The scope of work involves providing gardening maintenance services at the Pinetown Magistrate Court, including routine gardening activities, provision of materials and equipment, and ensuring the upkeep of the premises over a 24-month period. The services include maintaining lawns, trimming, cleaning, and other related horticultural tasks as specified in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of all necessary materials, equipment, and tools required for gardening maintenance.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations and local authority standards.
• Use of qualified and experienced personnel with proof of prior experience.
• Adherence to specified equipment standards, including the use of functional, safe, and compliant machinery.
• Implementation of a detailed work program and schedule, approved by the Service Manager.
• Proper management of chemicals and pesticides, with labelling and safety data sheets available on site.
• Compliance with environmental and health regulations, including proper disposal of waste.
• Provision of uniforms and identification badges for personnel, maintaining personal hygiene and conduct standards.
• Regular reporting and documentation, including incident reporting and progress updates.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in gardening and horticultural services, with references or prior contracts.
• Qualified personnel with knowledge of horticultural practices, safety procedures, and equipment handling.
• Ability to operate and maintain gardening machinery and tools safely and effectively.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to gardening and maintenance services.
• Competence in reporting, documentation, and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Effective communication skills for coordination with the Department and reporting purposes.
