Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a service provider for the provision of gardening and maintenance services at the Pietermaritzburg Old Magistrate Court for a period of 36 months. The aim is to ensure the upkeep, cleanliness, and proper maintenance of the court's gardens and surrounding areas throughout the contract duration.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of gardening services, including maintenance of lawns, shrubs, and trees.
• Supply of gardening consumables such as petrol, oils, refuse bags, nylon, weed killer, and compost.
• Supply and installation of gardening equipment on a once-off basis, including brush cutters, leaf blowers, wheelbarrows, hoses, spades, forks, and rakes.
• Adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards as per contractual and legislative requirements.
• Compliance with the technical and technical specifications outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of a detailed programme and cash flow plan within 14 days of contract commencement.
• Supply of all necessary equipment, consumables, and materials as specified.
• Compliance with health and safety standards, including submission of a health and safety plan within 21 days of contract start.
• Adherence to quality standards, including the use of SABS-approved chemicals and materials.
• Provision of security and security clearance for personnel involved in the service delivery.
• Regular reporting on incidents, progress, and compliance as per contractual obligations.
• Implementation of corrective actions in case of non-performance or delays.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from the service provider and personnel include:

• Relevant experience in gardening and maintenance services, with proof of similar completed projects.
• Qualified and competent personnel with experience in horticulture, landscaping, and equipment operation.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation applicable to gardening services.
• Ability to prepare and implement work programmes, safety plans, and quality assurance procedures.
• Capability to supply and maintain gardening equipment and consumables as specified.
• Compliance with security clearance requirements for personnel working on government premises.
• Financial stability and compliance with tax and BBBEE regulations, supported by relevant documentation.
