Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the repair of laptops for Transnet Port Terminals at the Port of Durban. The aim is to ensure the availability and proper functioning of computer equipment through a once-off repair service.

Scope

The scope of work involves the repair of 15 laptops as specified in the RFQ. The scope includes all activities necessary to diagnose, repair, and restore the laptops to operational condition, ensuring they meet the required standards and specifications outlined in the scope of work document.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of repair services for laptops, including diagnosis, replacement of faulty components, and testing.
• All repairs must be carried out in accordance with the specifications and standards set by Transnet.
• Repairs should be completed within the specified delivery lead-time from the date of purchase order.
• All work must comply with applicable national and local laws, regulations, and security clearance requirements.
• Respondents must provide proof of compliance with specific goals and B-BBEE requirements as stipulated in the RFQ.
• All pricing must be submitted electronically via the eSupplier portal; no paper pricing schedules will be accepted.

Skills Requirements

• Technical expertise in laptop hardware diagnostics and repairs.
• Experience with component replacement, troubleshooting, and testing of laptops.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, safety procedures, and security protocols.
• Ability to comply with legal, security, and confidentiality requirements, including obtaining necessary security clearances.
• Proficiency in electronic bid submission and familiarity with Transnet’s procurement systems.
• Effective communication skills for technical enquiries and coordination with Transnet personnel.
