Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and deliver high-quality leather boots, sole bends, and tyre solings that meet specified standards for orthopaedic use within the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of the following items:

• Leather boots made from black calf leather with specified specifications.
• Leather stucco sole bends for orthopaedic applications.
• Tyre solings with threads, made of high-quality rubber, supplied in rolls.

The items are intended for patient use within orthopaedic services, with samples required for verification, and must adhere to detailed specifications and standards outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Leather Boots: Made from full grain drum dyed box calf leather, black in color, with satin finish, thickness between 1.0mm – 1.2mm, suitable for hand lasting, packed in bundles of 6-10 skins, and supplied with a sample for verification.
• Leather Stucco Sole Bends: Natural veg tanned, soft rolled bends, thickness between 4mm and 6mm, packed and labeled, with a 1m² sample supplied.
• Tyre Solings: High-quality rubber, black with threads, approximately 20cm thick and 12cm wide, supplied in rolls of about 10 meters, with samples supplied for verification.

All items must conform to high-quality standards, meet safety and health requirements, and be supplied with appropriate documentation and samples for inspection and approval prior to delivery.
