Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure supply and delivery of maintenance uniforms and PPEs for Mbongolwane Hospital under the Department of Health, KwaZulu-Natal. The aim is to ensure the provision of quality, compliant, and standardized workwear and protective equipment to staff, adhering to safety and departmental specifications.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of:

• Maintenance uniforms such as jackets, trousers, rain suits, and safety boots.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including gloves, goggles, hard hats, socks, heat-resistant gloves, respiratory cartridges, duck bills, ear protection, and high-visibility T-shirts.

The procurement covers various sizes, specifications, and standards, including SABS approval for safety boots, and requires the uniforms to be stitched with the current Department of Health logo. The contract is a once-off delivery, with specified quantities and quality standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Uniforms and PPE must conform to departmental standards and specifications, including SABS approval for safety boots.
• Garments must be made from specified materials such as 100% polyester cotton, flame retardant, and acid-resistant fabrics.
• Uniforms must be stitched with the current Department of Health logo on the upper left side.
• Protective gear such as gloves, goggles, and helmets must meet safety standards and be suitable for industrial and hospital environments.
• Waterproofing, reflective tape, and other safety features must comply with EN20471 Class 11 standards and other relevant safety regulations.
• All items must be delivered within the specified contract period, with proper packaging and documentation.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in supplying hospital or industrial uniforms and PPE.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards, including SABS approval.
• Capacity to deliver the required quantities within the stipulated timeframe.
• Compliance with procurement policies, including preference points for Black Persons with Disabilities and other specific goals.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards applicable to hospital and industrial environments.
• Ability to provide proof of previous orders, delivery notes, and compliance documentation.
