Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure supply and delivery of maintenance uniforms and EPWP overall suits for Itshelejuba Hospital. The aim is to ensure the hospital is equipped with appropriate, high-quality workwear and protective clothing that meet safety standards and specifications, supporting staff in their operational roles.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various types of workwear including maintenance uniforms, EPWP overall suits, safety boots, safety officer uniforms, waste management officer uniforms, and related protective clothing. The procurement covers different sizes, colors, and specifications as detailed in the tender documents, with the items intended for staff at Itshelejuba Hospital and associated departments.

Technical Requirements

• All clothing and equipment must conform to specified standards such as SABS, ISO, and EN ISO 20345:2011.
• Uniforms must be constructed with approved fabrics, featuring specific design elements like multiple pockets, reflective tapes, concealed pockets, and reinforced seams for durability.
• Protective clothing such as flame retardant jackets, trousers, and overalls must meet safety specifications including acid resistance, flame retardancy, and visibility features.
• Items must be branded with the Department of Health logo where specified.
• All items must be supplied with samples for approval before full procurement.
• Delivery must be timely, with items packaged appropriately to prevent damage during transit.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Proficiency in manufacturing or sourcing high-quality protective and workwear clothing that meets technical and safety standards.
• Ability to produce garments with specific features such as flame retardant materials, reflective tapes, reinforced seams, and branding.
• Experience in complying with government procurement policies, including preference points and B-BBEE verification processes.
• Capability to provide technical samples, detailed specifications, and documentation as required for evaluation and approval.
• Logistical skills to ensure timely delivery, proper packaging, and handling of various sizes and types of garments.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards governing safety apparel and government procurement procedures.
