Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure comprehensive maintenance and servicing of the hot water system at Hlabisa Hospital, specifically focusing on both major and minor services for the hot water system that includes donkey boilers and heat pumps. The aim is to ensure the proper functioning, safety, and efficiency of the hospital's hot water infrastructure through scheduled servicing, repairs, and inspections.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Performing major and minor services on the hot water system, including cleaning, inspection, and testing of components.
• Servicing of donkey boilers, heat pumps, circulation pumps, pressure pumps, storage tanks, and associated plant room equipment.
• Cleaning tanks, removing sludge and rust, testing pumps, and ensuring all system parts operate optimally.
• Replacing elements (e.g., 3kW elements), repairing water leaks, and checking/refilling gas in heat pumps.
• Providing detailed reports of services, including documentation of work done and compliance with specifications.
• Attending scheduled site inspections and ensuring all plant and equipment are maintained according to standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to specifications attached in the tender documents, including size, quality, and standards.
• Use of qualified technicians with relevant certifications (electrician, refrigeration technician).
• Compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, including proper cleaning and rust removal.
• Provision of valid CIDB 1 ME contractor registration, SARACCA certificates, and good standing letters.
• Submission of previous experience certificates and completion certificates for similar jobs.
• Provision of detailed service reports, original tax invoices, and adherence to the specified scope of work.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for bidders include:

• Registered and certified refrigeration technicians and electricians with relevant qualifications.
• Experience in servicing and maintaining hot water systems, boilers, and heat pumps.
• Ability to perform system cleaning, rust removal, leak repairs, and component replacements.
• Proficiency in preparing detailed reports, documentation, and compliance with technical standards.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to hospital maintenance work.
