Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a service provider to perform major and minor servicing, inspection, testing, and certification of eight Medical Air Dryers and two Charcoal (Activated Carbon) Dryers at Addington Hospital. The service aims to ensure the continuous supply of clean, dry, oil-free medical air that complies with healthcare standards, thereby supporting critical patient care areas.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of both major and minor services for 8 Medical Air Dryers and 2 Charcoal Dryers.
• Inspection, testing, and certification of equipment as part of the hospital’s medical air plant system.
• Adherence to applicable standards such as SANS 7396-1, ISO 8573, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Pressure Equipment Regulations.
• Coordination with hospital management to avoid service disruptions.
• Provision of detailed service reports, calibration certificates, and compliance documentation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Scheduled minor service in January 2027, including visual inspections, operational checks, and condition assessments of filters, drain valves, control panels, alarms, and ventilation.
• Major service in July 2026, involving internal component replacement (desiccant, filters, activated carbon media), inspection and servicing of valves, actuators, and electrical systems, and comprehensive system testing.
• Ensuring dew point performance meets ISO 8573 Class 2 or better, with oil and contaminant-free air output.
• Compliance with safety standards, including submission of safety files, RAMS, PPE, and lockout procedures.
• Use of OEM-approved parts and materials, with minimal interruption to hospital operations.
• Provision of calibration, testing, and certification of equipment performance.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in servicing medical gas systems, with a minimum of three completed orders accompanied by signed certificates of completion.
• Proof of registration with the South African Qualification and Certification Committee (SAQCC) for medical gases.
• Capacity to perform both major and minor servicing tasks efficiently and safely.
• Ability to provide detailed service reports, calibration certificates, and compliance documentation.
• Compliance with CIDB registration requirements, minimum grading of 1ME or higher.
• Qualified personnel with relevant trade tests or qualifications related to medical gas systems.
• Demonstrated safety management practices, including submission of SHE policies, RAMS, and incident reporting procedures.
