Objectives

The tender aims to procure major and minor servicing of diesel generators at Bethesda Hospital and associated clinics. The primary objective is to ensure the reliable operation and prolong the lifespan of the generators through scheduled maintenance, including mechanical and electrical services, replacement of filters, batteries, and other critical components, as well as comprehensive testing and inspection.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Major and minor servicing of standby diesel generators at Bethesda Hospital, Mkhuze Clinic, Ophansi Clinic, Gedleza Clinic, and other specified locations.
• Mechanical and electrical maintenance, including replacement of filters, batteries, belts, and other parts.
• Preventive maintenance tasks such as checking coolant levels, oil levels, belts, and electrical connections.
• Testing of generator performance, including load testing, inspection of safety circuits, and operational checks.
• Provision of detailed reports, signed job cards, and invoices post-service.

Technical Requirements

The technical scope includes:

• Adherence to manufacturer specifications and standards (e.g., SABS, CIDB).
• Use of approved and compatible spare parts, filters, and batteries with correct part numbers.
• Compliance with safety and electrical standards, including valid electrical Certificates of Compliance (COC).
• Proper documentation of services, including inspection reports, lab test results for fuel, and service stickers.
• Provision of qualified artisans with traceable experience and valid certifications.
• Submission of invoices with supporting documentation for payment processing.

Skills Requirements

The contractor must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in servicing diesel generators, particularly brands like Deutz, New Way, and Volvo.
• Qualified technicians and artisans with relevant certifications (e.g., CIDB ME/EB, electrical licenses).
• Ability to perform both mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks to industry standards.
• Capacity to carry out load testing, inspections, and troubleshooting effectively.
• Compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during service delivery.
