Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a major service for the sewerage systems at clinics, specifically targeting maintenance, repair, and servicing of sewerage infrastructure to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with standards.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Performing preventative and reactive maintenance on sewerage systems at Madadeni Hospital clinics.
• Unblocking sewer lines, cleaning and servicing of water and waste traps, and inspecting sewer infrastructure using sewer camera systems.
• Repairing flushing mechanisms, ensuring water meters are functional, and removing mud, roots, and debris from sewer lines and manholes.
• Providing reports and quotations post-servicing, and ensuring all work adheres to specified standards and specifications.
• Additional tasks include opening all sewer manholes, rodding, and ensuring no leaks or blockages remain.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Use of approved materials compliant with SABS standards.
• Unblocking sewer pipes, toilets, drains, and manholes using sewer rods and high-pressure jet systems.
• Inspection and cleaning of all waste traps (hand wash basins, urinals, toilets) and ensuring no leaks in taps and water meters.
• Use of sewer cameras to check for line collapse or damage.
• Repair of flushing mechanisms, water meters, and sealing leaks with B Wax Sealer where applicable.
• Removal of mud, roots, and debris from sewer lines and manholes.
• Provision of reports and quotations after servicing.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Sufficient equipment and tools, including sewer rods, high-pressure jet systems, sewer cameras, and sealing materials.
• Qualified and experienced personnel capable of performing preventative and reactive sewer maintenance.
• Capacity to develop and implement inspection, servicing, and maintenance plans.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, ensuring all aspects of sewerage system maintenance are covered by suitably skilled staff.
• Provision of references and evidence of previous successful maintenance projects of similar scope and complexity.
