Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a Major Service of a Standby Generator at Mosvold Hospital to ensure its reliable operation and maintenance, thereby supporting hospital operations and patient care.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Performing a major service on the standby generator, including replacement of filters, checking and maintaining components, and ensuring operational readiness.
• Providing all necessary materials, parts, and labor as specified in the detailed technical specifications.
• Carrying out comprehensive inspection, testing, and cleaning of the generator and associated components.
• Submitting reports and documentation post-service for payment approval.
• Adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations during the service.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Major service of a 640 KVA generator, including:
• Replacement of filters (oil, fuel, air) with specified part numbers.
• Inspection and testing of battery, control panel, water jacket heater, hoses, and leaks.
• Cleaning and flushing of engine and canopy with degreaser and steam cleaning.
• Drainage and replacement of coolant, oil, and filters as per manufacturer specifications.
• Checking and adjusting fan belts, radiator hoses, battery condition, and electrical connections.
• Inspection of soundproofing, exhaust system, and phase rotation.
• Ensuring the generator's operational readiness and compliance with technical standards.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Registration as an Electrical (EB) or Mechanical (ME) contractor.
• Proof of valid tax clearance certificate and B-BBEE certification.
• Certified qualification of a diesel mechanic not older than 3 months.
• Experience in performing major generator maintenance and servicing.
• Ability to provide detailed inspection reports, maintenance records, and compliance documentation.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations and proper disposal of waste materials.
• Capability to supply all required materials, parts, and tools necessary for the service.
