Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a Major Service to Fire Equipment at various PHC Clinics within the KwaZulu-Natal Province. The service aims to ensure that fire safety equipment across multiple clinics is properly maintained, inspected, and certified to meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Providing comprehensive fire equipment servicing at designated clinics, including Dududu, Gateway, Mgengen, Pennington, Scottburgh, Umzinto, Philani, Dlangezwa, and Park Rynie Mobile clinics.
• Carrying out inspections, maintenance, and producing detailed reports for each fire safety device such as extinguishers and hose reels.
• Issuing certificates of service upon completion of each task.
• Ensuring all work complies with relevant standards, regulations, and safety requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of SABS approved materials and equipment.
• Registration with relevant authorities such as SAQCC Fire, FPASA, NFPA, and ASIB.
• Adherence to safety protocols during service, including on-site servicing with accredited vehicles.
• Inspection and testing of fire extinguishers and hose reels, including pressure checks and functionality assessments.
• Application of safety stickers and numbering on fire equipment for identification.
• Provision of detailed reports and certificates confirming the status and compliance of fire safety equipment.
• Proper documentation of all fire equipment, including registers and inventory lists.
• Compliance with all relevant standards and regulations, including CIDB registration for accredited work.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Qualified personnel with CIDB registration and accreditation in fire safety services.
• Experience in servicing and maintaining fire safety equipment, particularly in healthcare or similar environments.
• Knowledge of SABS standards, NFPA codes, and relevant safety regulations.
• Ability to produce detailed inspection reports, certificates, and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Capacity to handle on-site servicing with appropriate vehicles and safety measures.
• Competence in issuing certificates of compliance and maintaining accurate equipment registers.
