Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a major service for the maintenance and upkeep of freezer and cold rooms at Eshowe Hospital. The service aims to ensure that the refrigeration facilities are maintained in safe working condition, including re-gassing and leak testing, to support the hospital's cold storage needs.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Annual major servicing of freezer and cold rooms at Eshowe Hospital.
• Re-gas and leak testing of all cold rooms and compressors.
• Minor repairs and guaranteed workmanship for 12 months post-service.
• Delivery and commissioning within seven days of order.
• Provision of preventative maintenance and technical support as required.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the service include:

• Compliance with SANS standards and the Department of Health specifications.
• Use of new, unused, and latest type or pattern components and fittings, with SANS markings where applicable.
• Work to be carried out by skilled, competent workmen under supervision.
• Guarantee of minor repairs for 12 months and materials for 6 months.
• Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act 85/1993 and related regulations.
• Delivery of the service within seven days from order, with proper documentation and signed service schedules.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in servicing refrigeration systems, specifically freezers and cold rooms.
• Registration with relevant professional bodies such as SARRACCA (South African Refrigeration and Airconditioning Board).
• Proof of at least five years of relevant experience and qualifications.
• Capability to execute the work efficiently, with references or a project execution plan outlining manpower, machinery, and process control.
• Ability to conduct site inspections and provide technical support as needed.
