Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a major service for the maintenance and servicing of the kitchen cold room and freezer at Greytown Hospital. The service aims to ensure the proper functioning, safety, and compliance of the refrigeration equipment through comprehensive inspection, repair, and preventive maintenance.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Servicing of kitchen cold room and freezer units, including stripping, cleaning, and inspection.
• Replacement of faulty components such as pressure switches, blower fan motors, and defrost elements.
• Checking electrical wiring, control panels, and refrigerant lines.
• Vacuuming liquid line driers, reprogramming defrost timers, and testing all equipment.
• Ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations during maintenance.
• Providing a guarantee period of at least three months post-service.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications mandate:

• Compliance with attached detailed specifications and standards (e.g., SABS approved materials).
• Use of materials and parts that meet original manufacturer specifications.
• Servicing to include cleaning, inspection, and replacement of defective parts.
• Testing of all equipment in the presence of hospital representatives before completion.
• Adherence to safety, health, and occupational standards as per South African regulations.
• Completion of work within a two-week period from site handover.
