Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure supply and delivery of maternity sanitary pads, specifically designed for heavy post-natal bleeding, ensuring high absorbency, comfort, hygiene, and adherence to specified standards. The initiative also aims to promote enterprises owned by youth, aligning with the RDP goal for empowerment and economic development.

Scope

This tender covers the supply and delivery of maternity sanitary towels (12 looped, high absorbency) in specified packaging (12 units per packet) to Rietvlei Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal. The procurement is a once-off requirement, with specifications including size, material, leak guards, adhesive strips, and hygiene standards. The scope also involves compliance with technical standards, quality assurance, and adherence to delivery timelines.

Technical Requirements

• Must meet or exceed SANS specifications for maximum absorption capacity and fluid retention.
• Design includes a core of cellulose and superabsorbent polymer (SAP), a soft cotton-like nonwoven top sheet, and a breathable polyethylene back sheet.
• Must include elastic leak-guards, secure adhesive strips, and a contoured shape for better fit.
• Individually wrapped for hygiene and suitable for heavy post-natal flow days.
• Packaged as 12 units per packet, with a total of 1800 units (150 packets).
• Compliance with high standard quality standards is mandatory.
• Samples are not required; full specification compliance is essential.

Skills Requirements
