Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for minor and major maintenance of kitchen equipment at Hlabisa Hospital. Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses:

• Provision of minor and major servicing for various kitchen equipment including steam pots, tilting pans, stoves, hydro boilers, potato peelers, and ovens.
• Conducting scheduled maintenance, including changing elements, refilling water, greasing parts, and replacing worn components.
• Performing inspections, reporting, and providing after-service documentation.
• Adhering to specified standards, safety, and quality requirements.
• Service to be performed at Hlabisa Hospital’s kitchen facilities, with reports and invoices submitted for each service.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Valid CIDB 1 ME contractor registration.
• Registration with the Central Supplier Data Base (CSD).
• Provision of a letter of good standing and public liability insurance (minimum R3,000,000).
• Availability of qualified artisans, specifically electricians, with relevant certificates on site.
• Completion certificates from previous similar services (minimum two instances).
• Service reports, signed job cards, and original tax invoices post-service.
• Compliance with the detailed specifications provided, including equipment-specific tasks such as changing elements, greasing, and replacing rubber seals.
• Adherence to safety standards and proper documentation of all maintenance activities.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for the service provider include:

• Registered CIDB 1 ME (Mechanical and Electrical) contractor with valid certification.
• Qualified electricians or artisans with relevant certificates for electrical work.
• Experience in servicing commercial kitchen equipment, including steam pots, ovens, boilers, and other related appliances.
• Ability to perform technical inspections, diagnose faults, and execute repairs efficiently.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, health standards, and proper maintenance procedures.
• Capability to produce detailed reports, maintain records, and provide after-service documentation.
• Proven track record of similar maintenance services within healthcare or food service environments.
