Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to carry out minor renovations at Khayelihle Clinic, including repairs to cupboards, replacement of worktops with granite, wall tiling, and securing loose sinks, ensuring compliance with health standards and safety regulations.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Supply, delivery, and installation of materials as per the Bill of Quantities and drawings.
• Execution of repairs and renovations including cupboard replacement, worktop installation, wall tiling, and sink repairs.
• Work to be performed in accordance with the Department of Health standards, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and relevant regulations.
• Site inspections, testing, and commissioning to ensure proper functioning and compliance.
• Completion within a contract period of three weeks, with specified lead and site time allowances.

Technical Requirements

The technical scope includes:

• Removal of damaged cupboards and installation of new cupboards.
• Replacement of worktop with 30mm granite, including silicone sealing and sink replacement.
• Wall tiling replacement as per specifications.
• Refitting and securing of loose wall-mounted sinks.
• Adherence to all relevant standards, including SABS specifications and Department of Health trade preambles.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including hazard notices, PPE, machine guarding, and site safety protocols.
• Proper site management, including daily cleanup and damage control.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in building repairs, carpentry, tiling, and plumbing works.
• Competence in adhering to health and safety standards, including OHS Act compliance and safety file management.
• Ability to coordinate site activities, including site inspections, testing, and commissioning.
• Qualified personnel with relevant certifications and registration with the Department of Labour.
• Capacity to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe, with adequate staffing and resources.
