Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for minor renovations at Mabheleni Clinic, ensuring the work is completed in accordance with specified standards, safety regulations, and departmental requirements. The project aims to upgrade and repair facilities to meet health and safety standards, improve infrastructure, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply, delivery, and installation of all necessary materials and equipment as per the Bill of Quantities and drawings.
• Carrying out building maintenance, renovations, repairs, and minor new works at Mabheleni Clinic.
• Ensuring all work is checked and approved by the Chief Works Inspector.
• Adhering to Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations and Department of Health standards.
• Site clearance, daily cleanup, and proper disposal of debris.
• Coordination with the Maintenance Manager and compliance with site-specific safety and technical specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with all relevant standards, including SABS specifications and National Building Regulations.
• Implementation of a comprehensive Health & Safety Plan prepared by a registered safety officer, approved by the Department of Labour.
• Provision of all necessary safety equipment, hazard notices, and personal protective gear.
• Use of approved and specified materials, with all work conforming to the Department of Health's standard preambles and specifications.
• Proper installation, testing, and commissioning of all renovated structures and systems.
• Preparation of a detailed Safety Plan and submission of relevant legal and safety documentation prior to commencement.
• Adherence to site-specific health and safety regulations, including hazard demarcation, PPE use, and machinery guarding.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must possess:

• Qualified and experienced personnel in building renovations, carpentry, electrical work, and safety management.
• Certified tradespeople with valid trade certificates (e.g., plumbing, building, electrical).
• Staff trained in occupational health and safety regulations, including first aid and hazard management.
• Capability to prepare and implement safety files, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
• Proven track record in executing similar renovation projects within health facilities or similar environments.
• Ability to coordinate site activities efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to project timelines.
