Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a minor service of the generator at Gamalakhe Community Health Centre (CHC). The service aims to ensure the generator operates efficiently, reliably, and in accordance with technical standards, thereby supporting continuous health service delivery.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply, delivery, and installation of all necessary materials as per the Bill of Quantities and drawings.
• Carrying out annual generator maintenance, including checking, testing, and leaving the generator in good working condition.
• Performing specific tasks such as replacing filters, draining and refilling oil and radiator, checking alarms, and conducting after-service tests.
• Adhering to all relevant health, safety, and technical specifications, including site clearance and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Ensuring work is completed within the contract period of two weeks, with a lead time of one week and site work of one week.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of specified proprietary articles and approved materials, including Volvo TAD 733 GE 200KVA generator and specified filters and spares.
• Compliance with the Department of Health standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Carrying out all work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85/1993 and related regulations.
• Performing tests and inspections as per the provided test report example, ensuring the generator is in optimal condition post-service.
• Proper handling and disposal of old spares and waste materials.

Skills Requirements

The contractor must possess:

• Qualified technical personnel with experience in generator maintenance and servicing, specifically with Volvo generators.
• Certified and registered technicians familiar with the specifications and standards outlined in the tender documents.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including site safety protocols and hazard management.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and test reports accurately.
• Capability to perform all tasks within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring minimal disruption to health services.
