Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure minor services for the maintenance of laundry machines at Nkandla Hospital. The focus is on providing preventative maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of laundry equipment, thereby supporting hospital operations.

Scope

The scope includes the provision of a one-time minor service of laundry machines at Nkandla Hospital. This encompasses servicing tumble dryers, washing machines, iron presses, roller irons, and compressors as specified in the detailed requirements. The work must be carried out on-site at Nkandla Hospital, with minimal disruption to hospital services, and must adhere to relevant standards and safety regulations.

Technical Requirements

• Perform minor preventative maintenance on specified laundry equipment, including tumble dryers, washing machines, iron presses, roller irons, and compressors.
• Work must comply with South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) codes, National Building Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other relevant standards.
• All equipment and materials used must be SABS approved and South African manufactured.
• The service must be completed within the stipulated timeframe, with detailed reporting upon completion.
• Provide proof of experience, relevant certifications, and compliance with CIDB grading (minimum CIDB 1 ME or above).
• Ensure minimal disruption to hospital operations and avoid damage to existing infrastructure.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified electrical artisan with trade test certification.
• Experience in servicing laundry machinery and preventative maintenance.
• Knowledge of South African standards and safety regulations related to electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to work on-site with minimal supervision and adhere to hospital safety protocols.
• Competence in providing detailed reports and documentation of the service performed.
