Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver MMC Hygiene Packs, which include essential items such as containers, face cloths, bath soap, adjustable straps, gauze, carry bags, and post-operation wound instruction brochures. The packs aim to support male medical circumcision procedures by providing standardized hygiene and wound care materials, thereby contributing to health promotion and HIV transmission reduction.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement of 2000 MMC Hygiene Packs, including:

• Supply and delivery of the specified hygiene packs to the uMzinyathi Health District Office.
• Items must meet detailed specifications outlined in the tender, including size, material, and quality standards.
• Items include containers, face cloths, bath soap, adjustable belts, gauze, carry bags, and informational brochures.
• The delivery is a once-off contract, with the packs to be supplied in accordance with the specified standards and specifications.

Technical Requirements

The hygiene packs must comply with the following technical specifications:

• Container: 500ml capacity, plastic cylinder jar, wide opening, with or without lid, durable 100% cotton construction, various colors, dimensions approximately 30cm x 30cm.
• Face Cloth/Towel: 30cm x 30cm, 100% cotton, durable, various colors.
• Bath Soap: 100g – 125g, antimicrobial properties, designed for cleansing and germ killing.
• Adjustable Belt/Strap: Elastic, width between 2cm and 5cm, washable, with item support/support similar to provided images.
• Gauze/Wire: High-quality, porous fabric for wound care, sizes 75mm x 75mm or 50mm x 50mm, various sizes up to approximately 37cm x 44cm, 100% cotton or polyester, with DOH logo printed on one side.
• Carry Bag: Durable, suitable for carrying the hygiene pack components.
• Post-operation Brochure: Informational pamphlet on wound care, to be included in each pack.

Skills Requirements

Suppliers must demonstrate:

• Proven ability to manufacture or supply medical-grade hygiene products that meet specified standards and specifications.
• Experience in delivering health-related consumables within the KwaZulu-Natal region.
• Capacity to produce and deliver the required quantity (2000 packs) within the stipulated timeframe.
• Compliance with quality standards such as SABS or SANS approval for relevant items.
• Ability to adhere to technical specifications, packaging, and branding requirements, including the correct placement of the DOH logo.
• Provision of samples for evaluation and demonstration of compliance with specifications.
