Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver 24 fully stocked first aid kits, compliant with specified content, quality, and safety standards, to the Bloemfontein Regional Office of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure. The aim is to ensure the availability of standardized first aid supplies for emergency response and safety management within the department’s operational environment.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of 24 complete first aid kits housed in durable, wall-mountable plastic boxes.
• Supply of all specified medical items with expiry dates not less than 24 months from delivery.
• Delivery to the specified address at the Bloemfontein Regional Office within 14-21 working days from official purchase order.
• Provision of batch numbers and expiry dates for record-keeping.
• Compliance with quality standards, including sterilization and adherence to SAN/SABS standards.
• Replacement of damaged or incomplete kits at no additional cost.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Each kit must contain a minimum list of items such as antiseptic solution, gauze, cotton wool, bandages, scissors, gloves, CPR mouthpieces, burn dressing, and spill kits, among others.
• Housed in a rigid, dustproof, moisture-resistant plastic box, clearly marked “FIRST AID” in red, with internal checklists and sealable features.
• Items must be sterile where applicable and comply with relevant SANAS/SABS standards.
• Expiry dates of supplied items must be at least 24 months from delivery.
• Delivery to specified address within the stipulated timeframe.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in medical supplies and first aid kit assembly.
• Experience in supply chain management and timely delivery of medical equipment.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and compliance requirements for medical and safety equipment.
• Ability to provide batch numbers, expiry dates, and quality assurance documentation.
• Capacity to replace damaged or incomplete kits promptly at no extra cost.
