Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and deliver Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for workshops at the Kimberley Regional Office of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI). The aim is to ensure the provision of quality safety gear to support workshop operations and promote safety standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses the purchasing and delivery of various PPE items, including safety boots, overalls, jackets, high-visibility clothing, safety goggles, gloves, hats, respirator cartridges, and related accessories. The procurement covers specific quantities and sizes as detailed in the pricing schedule, with delivery to the designated workshop locations within the Kimberley region.

Technical Requirements

• All PPE must comply with relevant standards such as EN ISO 20345 for safety footwear and other applicable safety standards.
• Items must be new, unused, and of the most recent models incorporating latest design improvements.
• Packaging must ensure protection during transit and storage.
• Delivery must be made in accordance with the specified terms, including proper documentation and timely completion.
• Suppliers must provide samples for verification and meet all specified quality and safety criteria.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying PPE and safety equipment to government or industrial clients.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and standards outlined in the tender documents.
• Capacity to deliver within the stipulated timeframe and handle logistics efficiently.
• Compliance with procurement regulations, including submission of all required documentation such as BBBEE certificates, CSD registration, and relevant affidavits.
• Knowledge of safety standards and quality assurance processes related to PPE.
