Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure Neonate and Paediatric trace mini tracheostomy tubes suitable for neonatal and paediatric ENT surgeries, specifically for tracheostomies. The aim is to acquire high-quality, sterile, and compliant tubes in various sizes to meet clinical needs at Greys Hospital.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply of neonatal and paediatric mini tracheostomy tubes, including different sizes and specifications as detailed in the attached technical documentation. The procurement covers the full range of specified sizes, ensuring compatibility with surgical requirements for neonate and paediatric patients. The contract is for a once-off purchase, with delivery to Greys Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of sterile, new, unused trace mini tracheostomy tubes designed for neonatal and paediatric use.
• Various sizes including but not limited to: 2.5mm ID, 3.0mm ID, 3.5mm ID, 4.0mm ID, and mini sizes from 2.5mm to 6.0mm ID.
• Each tube must feature a sloping under-surface flange for optimized fit, a ring-shaped grip, and an adjustable neck strap.
• Materials must conform to medical standards, with no DEPH (depolarizing agents), and be sterile packaged.
• Include obturators with each tube, also sterile and sterile-packed.
• Compliance with specified dimensions, including length and diameter, as per attached specifications.
• All products must meet the relevant medical standards and be approved for surgical use.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven manufacturing or supply capability of medical tracheostomy tubes compliant with South African health regulations.
• Ability to provide sterile, high-quality medical devices suitable for neonatal and paediatric surgeries.
• Experience in supplying hospitals or healthcare institutions with similar medical devices.
• Capability to supply products that meet the detailed technical specifications and standards outlined in the tender documentation.
• Provision of technical documentation, certificates of compliance, and proof of manufacturing standards upon request.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations, including proper sterilization and packaging standards.
