Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of refuse containers in accordance with the detailed specifications provided. The aim is to ensure the municipality receives quality refuse containers that meet specified capacity and safety standards, supporting effective waste management operations within the Alfred Duma Local Municipality.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of various refuse containers, specifically:
  • Seven (7) containers of 10m³ capacity
  • Fifteen (15) containers of 1.75m³ capacity
  • Two (2) containers of 30m³ capacity
• Delivery of the containers to the designated depot at 422 Murchison Street, Ladysmith.
• Compliance with detailed specifications, including signage and material requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the containers include:

• Containers must have molded-in or welded signage with specific codes (e.g., C&S W 180, C&S W 181, Ect to 203).
• Materials:
  • 30m³ containers: 3 mm MS RT panels with a payload capacity of 14,000kg
  • 10m³ containers: 3 mm MS RT panels with a payload capacity of 8,000kg
  • 1.75m³ containers: Mobile units with 2,000kg payload capacity
• Construction features:
  • Folded corners and edges
  • Full strengthening and space welding
  • Numbered containers
• Paint:
  • Prime paint throughout
  • Finish paint on outer surfaces only
• Additional drawings and component details are provided to ensure conformity.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

• Proven track record in supplying and delivering refuse containers or similar products.
• Registration on the Central Supplier Database, with valid registration number.
• Compliance with the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act and Municipal Finance Management Act.
• Ability to meet technical specifications, including signage, material quality, and construction standards.
• Provision of relevant documentation such as BBBEE certificates, municipal account statements, and declarations of interest.
• Experience in handling large-scale container supply projects, with references if available.
