Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a qualified service provider to repair and maintain 64 fire extinguishers, specifically 5kg fire extinguishers located across electricity substations within the Alfred Duma Local Municipality. The aim is to ensure the fire safety equipment is functional, compliant with safety standards, and properly maintained.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Repair and maintenance of 64 fire extinguishers (5kg capacity) situated in all electricity substations managed by the municipality.
• Participation in a compulsory site briefing session at the Electricity Department, No 4 Keate Street, Ladysmith.
• Submission of sealed quotations with all required documentation before the deadline.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of repair and maintenance services for 5kg fire extinguishers.
• Attendance at a site briefing session scheduled for Wednesday, 25 March 2026 at 10h00.
• Compliance with safety and quality standards for fire extinguisher servicing.
• Submission of proof of registration on the Central Supplier Database.
• Provision of relevant documentation such as municipal water, rates and taxes account, BBBEE certificates, and declarations of interest and past SCM practices.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven experience and track record in repairing and maintaining fire extinguishers.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to fire safety equipment.
